Nothing new here

Not much new going on around here since my last post.  My calf has greatly improved.  But I'm still on the injury list since the nerve pain in my right foot is back.  It appeared again after a few days of cross-training on the elliptical and stair stepper.  I went to see my awesome chiropractic, and as I've suspected, he doesn't think it's my foot, but farther up the chain, likely in the pelvis/hip.  He poked and prodded near my gracilis and wowza!, there was a really sensitive spot at the origin on my right side, but not my left.  And the internal rotation of my hip is a lot less on the right than it is on the left.  So I'm going to get some therapy from him to see if we can get this worked out.  He fixed me once when no one else else could so I'm going to put my trust in him.

I'm generally a lazy person, but it's hard for me to not be active. So I'm doing what I can.  I'm pool running, taking two Pilates classes per week and doing some weight training.  I've been on a few short runs around the block but I don't plan on running over 2-3 miles until the nerve thing is under control.  I had to give up yoga class because I can only afford (time and money-wise) two classes per week.  And I feel like the Pilates class is so much better for my body than yoga.  I'll still try to do some yoga on my own at home.

As I mentioned in my previous post, Hagg is out.  And likely Pac Rim is out too, although I don't need to make a decision on that one right now.   I'll go up nevertheless to volunteer and support my friends.  And the little guy needs to do his part to keep the Wildman on his toes.

It actually feels pretty good to think that my next race might not be until July 2nd.  That gives me lots of time to work out all the kinks in my body and feel refreshed and ready to go again.  I know there are many people that can go, go, go, week after week.  I sort of did that last year.  But now's the time for me to take a step back to rest and renew.  I'm at peace with that.

I need to make a visit to your miracle working chiropractor. Wish I could find one.

Hang in there.

A very wise plan and good equilibrium, Sarah. Good for you.

Hope this thing eases well.
