A few things...

I was tagged by Angie to list six randoms things about me. I know I've done this before, but since there's not a lot of content here, I'll play again. Maybe when I'm done I'll look back in my archives to see if I list any of the same random things. Would that make them any less random?

1. I buy nearly all my clothes at thrift stores and rummage sales. My favorite is the good will bins store. But...I'm very particular about my brands....

2. I enjoy working in my flower and vegetable garden, but I won't notice it if houseplants die around me.

3. Marc and I eloped in Reno, NV. Our courtship lasted about 4 weeks. (The marriage is going on 22 years). My parents didn't meet him until after we were married.

4. I've hitchhiked in New Zealand. It was a lot tougher to get rides in Australia.

5. The soda, Squirt, reminds me of summers at my grandparents house in Tucson, AZ. If we were good we were allowed to go out to the spare refrigerator in the hot garage to get an ice cold bottle of Squirt. Those were the days when you could still get soda in glass bottles.

6. I'm afraid of heights, especially if I can look down below my feet (like on a bridge with spaces between the slats).

I'm not sure who is still reading so I won't tag anyone. But if you'd like to play along, consider yourself tagged!

Be yourself...everyone else is already taken.

We're all still reading, Sarah! I am with you on the bridge thingy. Don't tell anybody else though ;)

Well the main thing I have to say is "No.3 Wow!" That is so great, 4 weeks and going on 22 years. I really wish that pesky injury would go already so you both can come down here and run one of our races. Firetrails comes to mind.

About the heights thing. I once ran with a runner from Texas at Cascade Crest who had the same fear. On the log crossings he opted to go below and cross at the bottom.

Darn right, we are still reading, Sarah!! Thanks!

Had to laugh...my wife has EXACTLY the same approach to both the garden AND houseplants!! All our living stuff is outdoors!!!

And Goodwill has some great deals...I've picked up good stuff there. My two youngest sons finds it very useful.

Congrats on 22 years. You ought to contact the Reno C of C and have them put you on a brochure. You have to be in the upper 1% of longevity from there!!

Hope your week goes well.

You post, I read, no problem.

Love the soda reference. I have certain foods that remind me of my grandparents as well; watermelon for G'pa J and Keebler chocolate sandwich cookies for G'pa S.

And I would love to go to Australia, unlikely that I would be hitch hiking though.

Sarah,
I'm okay with heights as long as there is a railing. Bridge with slats with railing - yes! Log with no railing - no! I worry more about my balance (I'm a notorious klutz). If I had to cross a log with no rail, then I'd probably crawl.

As for the four week courtship and 22 year marriage, I guess you know when it's right! Congrats!

Yep Sarah I still look forward to your comments on everything. I hate heights too. Bummer we missed you guys at Portland.

Sarah, it's always nice to get a post from you. Like Darrell said, you post, we read. I just keep hoping that things will turn around for you soon and you'll be back on the trails. I miss your race reports.

I'm still here too! When we had a garden I was the same way, luckily my wife was just the reverse.

I hear you about the lack of posting and spending focus elsewhere - you gotta follow your heart. But I still like reading when I can, so post when it fits with your life. I love the thrift store shopping. It's better for the planet and better for your pocketbook. I rarely buy new things. They're much more comfy when they've been lived in.
