Who are you calling a maniac?

Introducing #889 ...the newest member of the insane asylum! A club with the word maniac in it's name? That's Marc's kind of club!

I'll admit that back in July of 2006, I was nervous about running my first ultra. So Marc, having never raced much more than a 10k, nor run farther than 15 miles, willingly joined me. It was a peak experience. Since then he's been my biggest supporter, run a few ultras of his own, and stepped up to take my place too. It's been a joy having him along for the ride!

PS. He'd still never admit to being a runner.

Thanks for sharing about your first ultra experience, Sarah. My first ultra is one week away and you helped me feel not so worried! Question - had you ever eaten boiled potatoes on a run before your ultra? I haven't, and I love them, but was warned by some non-ultra runners to not eat anything during the race that I had not eaten during a training run. I do understand that, but I think it will take me longer than 7 hours to finish ZG and I know I'll be sick of clif blox before then and will want some real food!
Hope you continue to heal up.

Well now...I thought he was a maniac last year when he stepped up to the PCT 50 in your shoes (literally and figuratively). I'm glad it is now official!

Do they allow non-runners in the Marathon Maniacs?:)
Well thankfully they see through all that let him join anyway. "Sure Marc, sure, you're not a runner, here's your number".

Congrats to Marc. Impressive that none of those races are less than 50K.
