No running content here

I guess I should post something before the spammers take over this blog....

I'm still here and still reading some of your blogs. But a few weeks ago I decided I really needed to step away from actively reading running blogs. I unsubscribed on my google reader from many of the running blogs I monitor....mainly the ones I never comment on. I'm still monitoring my main posse...and if I've commented on your blog or met/know you in real life, that's you. But for the most part I've stopped commenting. And while I truly wish I could be more involved in the running community, my state of mind is much improved by taking a step back and focusing on where I am, rather than over-striving for where I want to be.

I'm still getting Graston and ART once a week which really helps me feel normal. I can't recommend them highly enough. There are a few other therapies on the horizon that may help too. But mainly, I just need time and patience. I'm working really hard on overcoming my ego. I'm not going to be running anytime soon. And I probably won't blog very much until I can. But I hope you'll keep monitoring my blog, so when I'm back you'll join with me again.

So good to hear from you Sarah. Enjoy your time away. I took your recommendation for more color on my blog banner. Thanks for the input.

Sarah, I understand why you have not "been around lately". My situation is the same. After 20+ years of ultrarunning, I am unable to do so because of old injuries when I was hit by a car cycling to work. Your comment about concentrating on where you are and not where you want to be (and where I used to be)is exactly how I feel. It is too frustrating to do otherwise. Good luck with your recovery. I'm keeping you on my bloglines and now my new Blogger reading list as well. When and if you post I will know it. Heck its your blog it doesn't have to be all about running. I seem to remember some pretty good baked goods came through here a while back.

I'm with Darrell on the content. Baked goods, recipes, life with two busy boys (um, I mean a boy and a man-like boy) in the house - it's all good!

I look forward to seeing you on the trails again soon, and maybe even at Autumn Leaves.

hey sweetie!

I'm with D and M, you have lots of things to comment on in your life - in fact, something caught my attention the other day that reminded me of you, and I had to go and look up a past post to get the details. =)

I have been where you are. It is not fun. You made the right choice. Life is full of great things to be involved in. Have fun in what ever path you take. Say Hi to "M" the "non-runner" for me.

I've taken time off from my blog before, so I understand where you're coming from.

And it's important to remember that runners are people, too, with complete and full lives outside of that passion burning inside. You do what you need to do and in the meantime, we'll miss you. :-)

Sarah, totally understand. You take care of yourself, in both mind and body.

I have you in my RSS feed, so when you have something to say, I'll see it.

As tough as this is, you're going to grow from it.

Keep persevering...you'll be sound!

I know exactly what you are saying. Although I don't have any real physical injuries, I haven't been running either. When that happens, I can never bring myself to blog (like I didn't this summer!)and I worry about losing readers too. Sometimes we just have to take a break and focus on other things. I will definitely keep my eye out for when you do start posting again, so don't worry about losing this reader! I know you'll be back. Take care of yourself, and enjoy all the wonderful things life has to offer besides running. :)

Sarah, I'm so sorry to hear about your nagging injury. That must be such a difficult thing to deal with. But I hope you will continue to post on your blog - always great to hear about your family and see pics of your cute son and your wonderful baked goods! :)
Take care,
Gail

Sarah,

I'm with ya. I'm still not running either. I don't blog, but I don't want to read blogs, hear about running, see people running, etc. I had knee surgery and the recovery is soooo slow. I haven't tried yoga, maybe I should. I definitely want to step back from running and the community. Where I am and where I want to be just don't jive right now. kyly
