Me bad

Today at lunch time I went to the gym to do a leg weight workout. I wanted to warm up with a 10 minute walk on the treadmill. Soon I was up to a 13 minute walk pace. After 5 minutes of that I thought, why not bump it up to a 10 minute pace for a little jog and see what happens? insert evil grin here : ) I'm blaming it on The Ramones. You just can't go slow with "Judy is a punk rocker " blaring in your ears. I only ran for about 2-3 minutes, but there was NO PAIN! You don't know how exciting that is. Tomorrow it's back to my regularly scheduled walk, because I am determined to take it slow. But that was fun.

This weekend we're off for our second trip to Crater Lake and Bend this summer. Marc is running his first ever marathon on Saturday and his second ever marathon on Sunday. Wish him luck!

Great job Sarah, 3 whole minutes! I'm in complete sympathy, so glad to hear it was pain free. You're being smart and taking it slow.

Very funny to hear Marc's running his first marathon. Guess he just kind of skipped that whole 5K, 10K, 1/2 marathon build-up and went straight to the ultra world.

yay for no pain! =) taking it SLOW is very wise, because it's no fun being sidelined for even longer.

That's very funny about his first marathon =) That sounds like blogger bob too. =)

Hope carries us along so very often in life. You gave yourself just a peek at hope in those simple three minutes.

It is huge...to have the small wins like that Sarah. Yes, keep taking it easy, and rejoice in the glimpse of hope you had.

All the best to Marc this weekend!!!

Yay!!! I'm so excited for you :) Glad to hear you're still being cautious, but this seems like really good news. (I've done the same exact thing on the treadmill where I am *committed* to just walking but, before you know it, that speed has cranked up to 6mph... :D)

Whoa! Good news! Hope you guys have fun at HA - I'm going to get back there for the full marathon one of these years - I've only done the half. Have fun cheerleading!

I bet by the time I got around to read it, you are up to 5 min 3 times a piece? :) Slow and steady, you know the motto...better yet, SMART!

How is the non runner Marc feeling? He told me he is done running.

Good job on the jog. Yep do it only in very very little pieces and you will be back. Gotta love the Ramones.

I am too hurt to run all of Waldo but I am probably going down to just run 20 miles or so then DNF. At least I will get a taste of the trails for next year.

How great to read this. You'll cherish that 3 minutes for a while. Definitely keep at the slow and steady rebuild. Nothing sucks worse than pushing faster than you should and moving two steps backward.
