Saturday was my birthday and we celebrated the weekend by camping out at Clear Lake near the headwaters of the crystal clear McKenzie River. On Saturday, Marc completed the McKenzie River Trail Run 50k while the little guy and I had tons of fun cheering on him and the other runners. Despite a bit of a bonk around mile 21, Marc went on to finish strong in approximately 6:10. On Sunday morning, I went out for a 5 mile trail run on part of the course, around Clear Lake. Awesome!
Beautiful trails, wonderful people, perfect campsite, spot-on weather, gorgeous scenery: I couldn't have thought of a better way to spend my birthday!
