The current stats

Check out these stats! Man, if only I had run the rumble I could be number 6! As it is I'll bask for the moment in my 15 out of 70. The only other series race I'm running is Mt. Hood PCT, so its a sure thing I'll move down. But with 3 out of 7 races I'll likely finish better than last year's 47/50.

My legs are still tired, but overall, I feel like my recovery is going well. No weird aches or pains. My quads were a bit thrashed but they feel better every day. My weight is still up. I may have eaten too much salt on my potatoes. Runs have been slow. The 50k this weekend will be slow too. That's okay. It will be interesting running a timed run in my regular stomping grounds. Its not the route that I would plan, but I'm sure they have their limitations. During the Mac last weekend, I kept telling Sharon, that this weeks run was going to seem so easy in comparison. I think it will be a challenge for me to run a 50k so soon, although the course itself will be a lot easier. But I'll take whatever it hands me. I'm having fun, living in the moment, but all my training and racing is still focused on that 50 miler in July.

sounds like a great additude. The mileage that you've been putting in lately is pretty spectacular! Hopefully you can really enjoy that 50k this weekend :)

Sarah,
the way to get more points, other than running faster, is to do the longer races. i.e. rumble, pct 50, waldo, and then the 50k that suits you best. or just knock off all the fast ladies before the race and then you can really collect the points.

i will see you saturday. i might be getting my new lens and i will be taking pics around firelane #1 and then running the last six miles later in the day. have fun

Wow Sarah -top 20 is awesome! Heck, even being on the list is awesome. Have a great run this weekend! (oh, and try and make sure you don't wear the same outfit as Tom - that would be such a faux pas!)

Awesome!

Great perspective on this week's 50k. Keep a key race out there and everything else feeds to that.

Most folks couldn't fathom putting the term "easy" in front of the word "50k"!! But you can!!

I was just checking out the Maniac site and noticed your name on the PCT 50k. Have fun! I wish I could join you. I look forward to seeing you at Lake Youngs. Maybe we can get together after the race.
