Here comes the sun?

We are experiencing our typical Pacific Northwest showery spring. However the mornings are getting noticeably lighter. Yesterday, when I left the house at 5:40 I could see a glimmer of light to the east, despite the clouds. Now I'm just wishing for more of that sun during the daytime hours. I'm trying not to whine but I'm ready to dry out! But I know its going to be wet for at least another month, although the possibility of some mini heat waves is more likely as the days progress. I'll just hold on to that glimmer of light in the morning as it gets brighter and brighter.

This morning I accomplished one of my mini-goals by running 10 miles for a mid-week run. I'm eventually going to push that up to 12. But to do that I'll need to wake up before 5 am. And that's not going to happen until its lighter outside. I need some sun to get my body out of bed that early! So maybe sometime in late May I'll work on moving my Wednesday run up to the next level. I've also increased my Thursday run from 5 and change to 8. So far so good. Yeah me!

Hi Sarah,

I saw you and your son all day long on the Peterson Ridge course!!I wish I would have known :)
Your son is a cutie, and I loved the cowbell. It reminded me of the Saturday Night Live skit with Will Ferrell in it.
Somehow we will meet up at the Mac!

Good for you for increasing those week day runs. The most I usually do during the week is 10 - because I go out early as it is, and any earlier puts me in the 4:00 hour which I am just not doing! Something else I do is two-a-days to get the mid-week mileage up. You could try that.

"We are experiencing our typical Pacific Northwest showery spring." Are you telling me that there is a possibility of rain at Eugene? I hadn't really thought about it before. Bring it on I say, but I'll still keep my fingers crossed for dry

That morning light is a real boost, isn't it??!!

The mid-week 10 miler is also a boost... for the psyche as well as for the training. You'll get there as spring gets closer!

Nice job getting that mid-week 10 miler in the books. Those were always the toughest ones for me to get done.

Those 10 milers are kind of nice during the week. Since I don't often run with an Ipod a ten mile run allows my mind to drift into neutral and I just kind of go into cruise control for a while. This tends to clear the clutter and allows me to put my day in order in the last couple of miles.

I'll have Sarah tracks on my back soon enough with all the training you have been doing. Keep that spirit!

SILVER LEVEL

1. 3 Marathons in 3 weeks ( 3 Marathons within a 16 day time frame ).

2. 6 Marathons in 6 months (6 marathons in 6 consecutive calendar months).

3. 8 - 11 Marathons within 1 calendar year.

Go Sarah!, Go Sarah!, Go Sarah!

I think you could do three marathons/ultras in three weeks and earn that extra star! YOU CAN DO IT!

Awesome job on boosting up those midweek runs! I'd really like to get back to doing longish ones midweek like that as well.

I love when the long days come back :) Sunshine makes everything seem nicer
