A zero mileage week and other random thoughts...

My running log is going to have a big, fat ZERO for the week. I was planning on running Thursday and today, but I'm out of it with this summer cold. I'm getting a bit antsy to be out there running again, but considering that I'm also supposed to be recovering from the marathon, there's really no point in pushing it. So I'll live vicariously though all my running blog friends. I can't remember the last time I went a whole week without running. I looked through my prior coolrunning entries and see there was a 2 mile week in November 2004 (the week after the NYC marathon) and a 4 mile week last August when Marc was away at Burning Man. But if I had to get sick, this was the best week to do it. I should consider myself lucky that I wasn't sick the whole winter, especially with a small child in the house.

Here the link to our marathon pictures taken on the course. You can see our triumphant finish.

And finally...in honor of Father's Day...a small slice of father/son beefcake. I don't know what I'd do without these guys!!

what cute boys!

i loved the pictures.

since I began running (last year), my only zero mileage week was two weeks post-pemberton - and it was much-needed. enjoy!

I had 4 zero mileage weeks in November/December when I was injured and I hope I will not see another one for awhile. Certainly a good time to take one is after a marathon.

i think you deserve a zero week before you ramp up a little for the 50K.

Zero mileage weeks, I've done lots of 'em myself. Not proud of it, but what can I say, I get lazy and it gets the best of me! LOL

Is your cold the post-marathon depressed immune system syndrome?
