This will be brief because work has been crazy and lately I can't bear to sit in front of a computer during my free time.
The Mac 50k is coming up this Saturday and I guess its about time to focus on prep and planning. Last week was an easy one with just 31 miles total. On Sunday, Sharon and I ran only 10 miles on a hilly course over in Forest Park. For some reason it felt difficult, but I tried to focus on how much we have both improved since the first of the year. Maybe it was just too short. One thing I have noticed since Eugene is that it is taking me 4-5 miles to warm up. I'm looking on that as a good thing, because once I hit 6 I feel like I can go forever. Well, maybe not forever, but I'm definitely in the groove.
Sorry for the boring post! Hopefully I'll have an exciting race report from this weekend.

Good Luck With ur event this weekend!!
I was telling my coach the same thing about my warm ups a few weeks ago that it takes me about 4-5 miles before I get in a good groove...her answer was priceless,it was right after she did her 50 miler and she said "well, that's better then me. It took me 25 miles to warm up then the next 25 felt great" :-)
The real reason she felt crappy the first half was she was just coming off an IRONMAN in AZ the week before...so back to back weekends & travel to COLO was a bit tough...
Focus Sarah & kick butt, ur going to do great!
Lots of rest Sarah and you'll be fine. You're an animal, a much stronger runner this year than the last. Go get em'!
Have a great race this weekend Sarah! I'll be waiting for the report...
Enjoy the hills and the people!!
Wow! I look forward to the day I can say it takes me 4-5 miles to warm up. 4 to 5 is my TOTAL right now! =)
Can't wait to hear about your run!
ahhhh yes. that was very boring. kidding. have fun. plus and nice big bottle of mac forest trail ale to all. drink it cold, yummy.
Hardly boring at all to this group of niche reader/runners, Sarah!!
Wow, what fun on Saturday. Sounds to me like normal nervousness/taper madness. All the best for a great run on Saturday!!
Have a great time at the Mac 50. Is your friend, Sharon, running with you?
Good luck this weekend Sarah!
(I've been a dork and unable to figure out how to get to your site for about a week. Following the link on your profile page apparently was too difficult ;) )
I second what everyone else says, rest and you'll have a great time out there! You've improved so much as a runner lately and I feel like that will get reflected in this race.
Have fun!
Enjoy Mac 50K this weekend! Have FUN!
I am feeling a bit envious. I have run the Mac 50 the past 3 years. I am sad to miss it this year. Enjoy it for the rest of us.
Hope you're doing well at Mac right now Sarah! I'm going to miss all you guys for the next few months while I hide in road marathons.
